Program & Services
Our service includes transfer between hotel/ship and Mahon Airport,...in rock 'n roll style naturally!* Full board accommodation with culinary highlights guaranteed. We don‘t just want to spoil ourselves musically, do we? After all, our top-notch ship‘s chef is a decorated spoon slinger. A professional tour manager will take care of your daily well being and special requests 24/7. He certainly will leave no stone unturned to get things right for you.
*(Optionally the Guitar Cruise travel agencies offer to arrange your flights by request)
Vessel & Boutique Hotel
About 10 minutes from our mooring we will reside in one of the most charming Boutique Hotels in Menorca. A perfect alternative, balanced between mood, space and well being.
Casual yet refined, rustic yet luxurious, a marriage of old and new.
After a long pleasant day aboard the SS Sir Robert, you can choose to retreat to your cozy rooms, enjoy a late night jam over a „night cap” in the gardens, or savor a relaxing last swim in the pool. On the other hand whoever prefers to spend the night aboard our ship in one of the basic but comfortable berths is more than welcome. Get that 100% sailor‘s feeling!**
You will find interesting and helpful information at www.sir-robert.com.
**(As the SS Sir Robert only contains 7 guest berths, we need to rotate or discuss the occupancy on a daily basis)
Let me introduce you to our program and schemes. Whatever the schedule, we will of course respect and adapt to your personal requests, “hangovers” and spontaneous adventures!...no worries, flexibility rules! After an opulent breakfast we shuttle down to the ship (10 - 15 min.). If you feel like it, you can of course give the crew a hand and hoist the gigantic sails or help the captain manoeuvre the vessel out to sea. You might prefer some “laissez faire” with a guitar on your knees instead,...mind you, the sun burns down pretty hot by now. As soon as we have reached our dream bay and drop the anchor, we will turn to our daily musical tasks. If fingertips and heads then start to smoulder from playing, listening and learning, we could always decide to hop overboard and cool off in the turquoise waters.***
***(By the way, there is an instructor on board if you interested in a scuba diving taster course.
There‘s diving equipment aboard for the advanced divers!)
Having lunch in one of the many authentic beach restaurants comes as a pleasant break from the boat. Who wouldn‘t fancy a little nap on the beach before we dinghy back to the “mothership”. Steve and I certainly deliver quite a variable, interesting, entertaining and instructive cruise! Feel heartily invited to bring along your favorite guitars, electric or acoustic. In addition we will have plenty of valuable instruments and amps at our disposal. Guitar heaven!
Besides if you don‘t play an instrument but you‘re a music lover or R&R enthusiast who would just love to hang and enjoy the trip and be entertained - welcome aboard! Maybe you‘ll go home with a few chords under your belt, Who knows?
In the evening, after our gourmet dinner on the quarterdeck, we will then set sail for a different cove or bay each night for more jamming and conversation. Maybe we‘ll fix ourselves down to our favorite after a while - again, flexibility rules! The wine-bar is filled with excellent vintages and...what?...of course we‘ll agree on our preferred beer brands Just as well! On the last evening of the cruise we‘ll perform a gig in Menorca‘s legendary Jazz Club and play some of the tunes we‘ve learned. Looking forward to welcoming you aboard.
Keep swinging lads, Ahoy!
Carl Carlton
